Leili Rohani, postdoctoral scholar, Invited to Speak About Engineering Heart Tissues for Cell Therapy.

Leili Rohani, our Postdoctoral Scholar in the School of Biomedical Engineering was invited to the Stem Cell Podcast last week to talk about her research focuses on engineering heart tissues for cell therapy. Specifically, she spoke about her recent paper published last year in Nature Communications Biology (with the support from Stem Cell Network (Canada)) on bioprocess engineering of human pluripotent stem cells: https://www.nature.com/articles/s42003-020-01218-3

The paper had a broad impact and was covered by several media including: 1) ESC & iPSC News – 2) STEMCELL Science News, 3) One of the Favorite Science of 2020 by Stem Cell Technology.

As well, she made reference to her paper in Aging Cell (Impact factor: 9.304) (the most prestigious journal in the field of aging) and was one of the pioneer articles pointed out aging signatures of human stem cells: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4326871/
