Victoria Rotation

The cardiology rotation at the Royal Jubilee Hospital (RJH) in Victoria provides a resident with a wide breadth of experiences including laboratory clinical training (i.e., EP, echo, and cath lab); inpatient services (i.e., cardiology ward and CCU); and outpatient clinics (EP clinics, CHF/cardiac rehab, general cardiology). There are numerous clinical teaching rounds including EP rounds on Tuesday/Thursday mornings; ECG teaching on Tuesday afternoons with Dr. Tony Tang; combined cardiology/cardiac surgery rounds on Wednesday mornings; and bedside teaching with Dr. Lyall Higginson on Thursday afternoons. Further, there are many opportunities to teach residents and MSIs by providing noon rounds presentations on Tuesdays or by conducting bedside teaching as time allows.

The clinical and administrative staff at RJH are friendly and accommodating; and the atmosphere yields a successful combination of teaching and service in a community hospital setting.
